FAIRLINE BOATS WINS THE QUEEN'S AWARD
"ENTERPRISE IN THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE CATEGORY"
21st April 2008. This is the second time in its history that Fairline has received a Queen's Award for Enterprise. Accomplishments considered by the judging panel when bestowing this prestigious award upon Fairline include doubling of their export sales over the last three years, increased overseas distribution and the creation of new jobs.
This Award is the most prestigious corporate accolade that a UK business can win and honours outstanding UK companies. On hearing the news Derek Carter acknowledged the hard work and professionalism of the entire Fairline team.
He said, 'To win an award such as this, which is universally recognised throughout the world as being of the highest merit, is testament to our entire team and is to be shared equally among every one of the 1400 Fairline employees. Our design team creates cutting edge new models, our craftsmen and engineers proudly build them here in our factories, professional and enthusiastic sales and marketing teams travel throughout the world and my management team oversee operations alongside me. We are all backed up by vital administration teams including Finance, HR and H&S.'

In response to the global demand from the leisure boater for ever more luxury afloat, we have introduced a steady flow of new models across our Fairline range. Each has received the highest acclaim by journalists from international marine publications and this is reflected in our forward order book, which stands at over £100million - its highest ever in our 40 year history. The winning of The Queen's Award for Enterprise 2008 comes the year after Fairline celebrated 40 years of boat building and confirms its position as a pre-eminent global player in the luxury motor yacht market - and proud British company based in Northamptonshire.
REGAL'S AWARD WINNING CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

"It's extremely difficult to get to the top. We have worked very hard to get to this point" said Duane Kuck, president and CEO of regal Marine. "But it's even more difficult to stay there, the competition in the marine industry right now is very strong. Receiving these recognitions again and closing the gap in the other segment demonstrates total dedication by Regal's employees and dealer network to our highest priority - creating an exceptional boating experience for our customers."
Mark Chapman comments, "This is a tremendous company to deal with, the product is first class and I don't think I have ever had a warrantee problem. CIGARETTE 39' TOP GUN UNLIMITED Wins Award".
April 23, 2008
Cigarette Racing Team earns "Most Exotic Engine Compartment" award at the Fort Myers Poker Run.
Cigarette's 39' Top Gun Unlimited boat, powered by stagged Mercury Racing 700SCI engines has finely detailed rigging over the smoothly finished fibreglass bilge compartment.
"Every part of a Cigarette is strategically placed for optimum balance and durability. But the fact that we care as much about our performance as we do about our finishing and rigging of the engine compartment just makes us even more unique," says Neill Hemandez, Vice President of Cigarette Racing Team. "We not only let you rule the sea, we make you look good doing it"
"It was a great honour for us to earn such an award." Said Tim Gallagher, Cigarette Racing Team's Sales Director. We look forward to participating in more Poker Runs this year and will continue to display our fantastic product.
Cigarette 42X : High-Performance Boat Offshore
Award-winning V-bottom delivers superb performance and craftsmanship.
When Mercury Racing was developing the HP700SCi engine and NXT1 drive, the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin company used Cigarette Racing to test the new package.
When Power Boat Magazine tested the 42-footer it excelled in rough offshore conditions. John Tomlinson and Bob Teague - the magazine's test drivers - gave the boat perfect scores in quartering, following and head-on seas.
"There's nothing quite like a Cigarette in rough water," Teague said.
Tomlinson added, "For a pleasure boat, I don't know if it gets any better."
Both test drivers also praised the 42X in turns at cruising and full speed. The boat was solid in slalom drills, and tracking at all speeds was nearly perfect.
The 700-hp motors hit 100 mph with 16 3/4" x 34" Hering five-blade propellers at 5,200 rpm, not bad for a deep-V hull weighting over 4.5 tons
Cigarette 46' FASTEST EVER
Remembering back to February 8th, 2006 near Mercury Racing's " X-Site " testing facility in Panama City, when Offshore Power Boat Racing Champion, John Tomlinson drove and throttled a special build Cigarette 46' deep-V Hull and attained 172 MPH, the fastest Cigarette ever. The 2 way pass of the 1 kilo course averaged 163.759 MPH. Skip Braver, Cigarette CEO, asked Mercury Racing to build some experimental custom engines that would go beyond the speeds achieved by Cigarette with the 1075 SCi engines. " We have great respect for what it takes to achieve speed records, but we consider the run an example of what Cigarette can accomplish when we set our minds and resources to it" Braver said. "Our goal is to use the knowledge we gained to continue to build the best performing boats on the water"
CIGARETTE WINS "NEW MODEL OF THE YEAR" AWARD
May 5th 2008- Powerboat Magazine presents Cigarette Racing Team with the "New Model Of the Year" Award for the 49' Grand Sport.
